Thoughts on building your body

I truly believe that you and I can build the bodies that we want. That's step one. Believe.

I've heard people complain about eating right. It's hard because you are restricted. I don't look at it that way.

I eat whatever I want. The key is to WANT to eat the right things.

Some goes for building your body. You can change your body; we all can. The key is is to be realistic with with where you want to go, what you are willing to do to get there and how long you willing to invest.

If you are a 45 year old woman who has 3 kids, is 100 pounds overweight and have never exercised in your life then then 22 year old Instagram model may not be good motivation.

We have to be realistic and we have to work with the mold that we are given.

Focus on changing the person in the mirror to a better person in the mirror not a different person.

Once you believe the first essential decision is to be realistic.

Next you need to commit to taking action. This will be different to all of us but this is the meat and potatoes of changing the way that your body looks and performs.

Years ago I made a decision. I decided that I was going to be a CrossFit athlete and that I would qualify for the CrossFit Games. This decision spurned me to action each day for years.

Goals change but habits remain.

Action creates momentum. Momentum creates results.

What results do YOU want? I want to change the way that my body performs and I realize that the process continues day after day, month after month and year after year.

Same goes for you.

If you are trying to shed body fat to look better you may have some results but some results NEED to parlay into more results.

It's a process that never stops.

You believe. You decide on a realistic goal. You take action to create momentum.

You do it again.

And again.

And again.

You NEVER stop. You keep adjusting your methods. You keep setting new goals. You keep fighting.

Some days you win and some days you don't. Setbacks happen. Failures happen.

It doesn't matter.

The key is that you keep believing that you can get just a little better. To get better you just keep taking action.

If you vow to do this process forever eventually your body will begin to change and one day you will look in the mirror to see that body that you have always wanted starting back at you.

Then you will get out the door to keep fighting because THAT is how you create a lifestyle with a smoking hot body at a side effect.

It's that simple. Get to work.
